Our Vision/Objectives

Our vision

The vision is to make radical improvements to the Route 38 corridor through better management of the road network, providing for the needs of traffic, businesses and the community, while giving more priority to buses, pedestrians and cyclists.

A better approach

Route 38 is extremely important and effective at transporting large numbers of passengers. However, this and other bus services on the route are subject to excessive delays and disruption at certain locations.

The proposals for Route 38 have been designed to substantially reduce the overall journey time from one end of the route to the other and make the service more reliable throughout the day.

The proposals have been developed to ensure benefits for all users including pedestrians and cyclists, as well as buses.

Objectives

• Improve bus reliability and reduce journey times
• Enhance the environment along the route corridor
• Improve safety and facilities for pedestrians and cyclists
• Create a more pleasant and safe bus stop environment to make it easier for all passengers to get on and of the bus
• Provide additional benefits, where possible, for all road users, communities and businesses
