The consultation period for this section of Bus Route 38 ended on 10 April 2006.
Proposals for the section of Bus Route 38 shown on the map, Shaftesbury Avenue, include:
- A new 12 or 24 hour Hackney-bound bus lane between Dean Street and Cambridge Circus
- Improved pedestrian safety by widening pavements on both sides and introducing traffic calming measures
- Prevent kerbside loading by introducing four new loading bays inset into the pavement
- Street beautification
