Bus stop design and accessibility

Bus stops will be redesigned where necessary to ensure service reliability and passenger safety.

Enforcement

An Enforcement Strategy, including CCTV coverage of bus lanes, has been developed to support the improvements to Route 38 and to significantly improve service reliability.

Busways and bus zones

Busways and bus zones will remove the conflict between buses and other motor vehicles.

Junction operation and design will be modified to improve service reliability and conditions for all road users.

Pedestrian crossings

Pedestrian crossing design will be modified to ensure a safer environment and achieve a better balance between pedestrians and other road users.

Pinch points

Pinch points will be addressed by widening carriageways and by effective enforcement of waiting and loading restrictions at critical points.

Bus lane links

12 or 24 hour, 7 day a week bus lanes and contra-flow bus facilities in some locations will create a public transport corridor for buses while also benefiting cyclists and taxis.
